Piece of My Heart

Piece of my Heart was born in one of these unique moments where you keep looking at something from different angles and see something that can only be see from one specific angle.
The overlapping leaves that form the shape of the heart could only be seen from one specific angle. It was extremely hard to get my camera set up in such a way that it would be able to ‘capture’ the heart. After getting the heart in the image it was now my task to only show those things in the image that I want to show. Playing with the light turned out to be an even bigger challenge than I initially thought. I only want to get the light on those parts of the tulip that I want to show and have the rest of the surrounding area disappear into the underexposed area (read: remain black). It was a challenge but the result is what I can now show you as Piece of My Heart, a heartwarming result.
