This is from my "By the lake" series. Using a zoom lens and a slow shutter speed, I capture images created by the moving reflections of trees or their branches on water. Surreal formations on a blue background that is both sky and water, depict trees, which in turn connect earth and sky. These artworks made by nature express the interconnectedness of the natural world as well as the "tree in me" or my own connection to nature.Â

I mainly take close-up photographs of natural objects and my work is celebratory and joyful in nature. I like to show the fragile, tender aspects of the natural world through extremely close-up lenses that often reveal sights unseen with the naked eye. This often, but not always, renders my subjects abstract. I like to express the delight I feel in finding colour, shape and form in nature. My images are a visual representation of gratitude and wonder.
