This piece is from my  series  "By the lake". Using a slow shutter speed and zoom lens, I capture  images created by the movement of tree reflections on water. Surreal  tree formations, on a blue background that  is both sky and water, are artworks created by nature itself.  Water/sky reflects trees, which connect both earth and sky, expressing the interconnectedness of the  natural world. At the same time, the tree images reflect "the tree in me", that is, my own connection to nature.

I mainly take close-up photographs of natural objects and my work is celebratory and joyful in nature. I like to show the fragile, tender aspects of the natural world through extremely close-up lenses that often reveal sights unseen with the naked eye. This often, but not always, renders my subjects abstract. I like to express the delight I feel in finding colour, shape and form in nature. My images are a visual representation of gratitude and wonder.
