Inspired by the Belgian surrealistic artist René Magritte the overall title of this series is CE N'EST PAS UNE VILLE - this is not a city even though it might look familiar to the viewer.Â
Most of the pictures were taken during the lockdown period when the world seemed surreal to many people. Creating  new realities from her own pictures is Petra's way to showcase how unreal the world became.

When the world seems unreal due to all the crises, the path from 'ordinary' street photography to surrealism is made easier. In her series nothing is what it seems: you see a city, but this city does not exist, at least not in this way. New realities have been created by merging photos into collages.
