When Gaze Turns to Vision
To paint and design; and transforing my abstract paintings into epoxy objects.

WHEN LOOKING BECOMES SEEING "SUBDUED ABSTRACTION"
Marja Ormeling paints understated, abstract compositions, with precision and directness on the white canvas. Leaving the canvas as white as possible is synonymous for her with space, light, and tranquility.
Abstract painting is about making the invisible visible through color, movement, and composition. Transformation fascinates her. "When looking becomes seeing," there is much for the viewer to discover, according to Marja.
With a background as a psychotherapist and experience staying in the Amazon rainforest and other natural areas, the connection between humans and nature is a constant source of inspiration for Marja. Her artistic journey includes studies at the Famous Artists Course and the Gooise Academy of Visual Arts.
Marja works with acrylic and oil paint, pastels, ink, and epoxy. Her work ranges from abstract to figurative.
Deeply influenced by Kandinsky, nature, and of course, my own journey
Marja's aim with her art is for people to experience a form of happiness with each renewed gaze at the painting they have purchased. Through the energy of the color and visual power it exudes, the unseen is seen by those who can see it. Her canvases tell emotions, proving to be comforting for others as if they serve as reflective memoirs for past sorrows. The colors reach you; they need no words.
